What are the things you need to do within 30 minutes of waking up to ensure your day gets off on the right foot? What happened the last time you didn’t do one of these things?
On a perfect right foot day:
1. Wake up to the sound of classical music on the radio alarm
2. Climb out of bed
3. Grab a set of fresh clothes
4. Go wash and change into clothes
5. Brush teeth
6. Get to the kitchen for breakfast cereal
7. Have a coffee
8. Take my tablets
Sometimes somewhere in the middle of all that, that’s after climbing out of bed and changing into fresh clothes, not before a wash, I may go for a morning walk. It stretches to over 30 minutes but it’s the sure sign of me waking up to make sure my day gets off on the right foot.
One way or another I get round to doing all the things I need to, though sometimes the order gets scrambled, just like my eggs for breakfast.
But remember this is the perfect day. Most of the time I wake up and snooze for over the half hour, and everything gets protracted after that. And If that happens it is quite possible it takes me until lunch to recover.
