On-line Privacy

I am not so internet savvy as to know about the ins and outs of how to protect privacy on-line. I do know that there is such a thing as cookies, and if I understand right these are downloaded onto the hard-drive of users’ computer each session, recording the sites visited. This information can then be viewed by whoever so wishes (I am not sure how but…). That is what I understand. Big brother is definately watching. Yikes!

How do you manage your online privacy? Are there certain things you won’t post in certain places? Information you’ll never share online? Or do you assume information about you is accessible anyway?
