Not-So-Distant Relative

Probably my grandmother on my mother’s side. I went to her funeral and that was something. She was a teacher, and still taught children into her old age. We have pictures of her visiting me when I was a baby, and though I don’t remember those times, or any other meetings, I imagine her as a kindly saint. So my vote goes to Grandmother’s Day.

Many countries celebrate Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. If you could dedicate a holiday to a more distant relative, who would it be — and why?
